James T. Nicholson, born Ireland [place unknown] probably 1839.

Living in Boston before 1861, Served in Union navy in civil war, married in Roxbury, then a township of Norfolk County and now a residential section of Boston, MA.

Married to Maria Bridget McHallan, who was born also in Ireland [place unknown], probably 1845.

As noted on marriage records in City of Boston probably should be spelled McHallen and their son, John James Nicholson, (Harold's father) was born Charlestown, MA, on 12 Apr 1869. His siblings were: Joseph Nicholson and Genevieve Nicholson.

James married Maria Bridget McHallan, daughter of David McHallan and Elizabeth. (Maria Bridget McHallan was born circa 1845 in Ireland.)
