Yours To Keep

forget tonight,
tomorrow is the day
forget the fight,
we'll have to find a way

my sanity's returning,
its just another phase,
but still my mind is yearning,
for a chemical induced haze

the pain you cannot see,
but try to understand,
is just a part of me,
that comes without demand

my love for you is stronger,
than my fear and pain
and yet seems like no longer,
can I fight the rain

I keep on fighting still
and hope you understand,
this helpless feeling will
not depart upon demand

please stay with me forever
and love me ever more,
and god don't ever leave me,
like those who've gone before

I know you cannot foresee the cloud,
that comes over me at times,
but please try to understand,
what's written in these lines

your love is like a shelter,
to keep me safe from harm
but in, sometimes, the blackness creeps
like clouds before a storm

I cannot say what cause there is,
its oft not clear to me,
but be my anchor and my guide,
while I'm on that stormy sea

to stay by me at these times
is not easy, thats a fact,
but please remember this too shall pass,
I will re-learn how to act

my love for you is ever deep,
more than I can explain
my heart, my love, is yours to keep
in sunshine or in rain
