No One's Friend

Did you ever meet the kind of girl
The one who lets you know
That she will never ever need
You, the things in life to show.
She was born into a family large
And every year did grow
Along with her birth of joy
There seemed more and more to woe.
School began with expectation
From the Mother and the Dad
For her to find the friends to have
Yet not one she even had.
Teachers tried to teach the girl
And made some strides I’ll say
Yet even with their help so kind
Friends for her never seemed to stay.
Try their best the teachers would
To teach her skills to learn
And even though they tried their best
She for friends did yearn
The teen years swept in before
Her parents could adjust
It seemed as if there would never be
Friends in whom they could trust.
Her leaving home was difficult
Her parents would agree
They tried to reason with her
Yet her eyes just wouldn’t see
That in the life she chose so quick
There would be some who would
Take advantage of the girl
And then take everything they could.
They robbed her of the simple things
Taking dignity and joy
They even took things important
Three girls and then the boy.
They scarred her with a virus strong
That left her pained for life
But more than that they took her hopes
Of being just a wife.
She longs so much to belong
To be loved right to the end
Instead she has this sorrow,
To not even have one friend...
