My mind lets go
A thousand things,
Like dates of wars
And death of kings.

I wonder back
To days gone by,
And think of what
Passed beneath our sky.

I think about Columbus,
As he sailed across the sea,
And think about things
He really expected to see.

I think about the stars,
And how they came to be,
And I often wonder if
They'll ever be known to me.

I wonder about the ocean
And all that dwells therein.
I think of how man came about
And what he might have been...
