A Train Called Nostalgia

Just for Nostalgia,
I rode a railroad train.
Headed out of Boston
On a ride down memory lane.
The days of the old steam engine,
For the most part has past.
But memories of those days
Will continue to last.
I remember many years ago,
A two thousand mile ride,
When the train was king,
And it's crew cared for it with pride.
We traveled across our country,
This great land in view.
Everywhere we passed
There was something new.
Small towns and farm lands
Seemed to roll past our sight.
On occasion someone waving,
Much to our delight.
Bridges over rivers,
Prairie land runs for days.
Through valleys and over mountains,
We sped along our way,
Following the railroad track
Over our country, oh, so wide.
Seeing all of this
Has to bring out pride. ~ George C. Clements
