The following two notes are provided by Wendy Hawksley, a descendant of Emma B. and Benjamin F. Haley.
1. Some kind of epidemic or contagious illness appears to have been the cause of death for Emma (Bonney) Haley and two of her children, who all died from November through December of 1882.
2. Emma's death certificate incorrectly lists Benjamin Haley as her father - he was her husband. A search of Hillcrest Cemetery turns up both Emma's and her 2 children's headstones from 1882. They are smaller and toward the back, just up on the hill, and barely legible. Buried in Row 6, Plot 7.
Emma married Benjamin Franklin Haley, son of Edward Marshall Haley and Clarissa Barrett, on 8 Jan 1869 in Hanover, Plymouth, Massachusetts.1 (Benjamin Franklin Haley was born in 1852 in Plymouth County, Massachusetts and died on 10 Jan 1939 in Tewksbury, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.) The cause of his death was Generalized arteriosclerosis - hardening of the arteries - and hypostatic bronchopneumonia.1
